THE BEGINNINGS OF NEE SOON CLINIC
Nee Soon Clinic has a long heritage of serving the local community of Nee Soon, Singapore. Nee Soon Clinic was founded in the year 1960 by Dr B.R. Mukherjee.
Back then in 1960, Nee Soon Clinic was located at 81 Sembawang Road 526 off Nee Soon Ps. Nee Soon Clinic had posted in Classified Ads on The Straits Times, 16 August 1960, Page 6, seeking to immediately hire a nurse and dispenser.
TALENTED PHYSICIANS AT NEE SOON CLINIC
1962
Nee Soon Clinic has a track record of highly talented physicians. Dr B.R. Mukherjee of Nee Soon Clinic was interviewed by The Straits Times, 24 November 1962.
On 22 October 1962, Dr B.R. Mukherjee of Nee Soon Clinic accurately diagnosed a patient with acute abdomen and referred him immediately to the General Hospital, indicating that the patient need hospitalisation, through investigation and possibly surgery. However, the patient was discharged by the General Hospital and died at home 5 hours later.
The state coroner highlighted that the patient probably would have survived if the General Hospital doctors had followed the recommendations from Dr B.R. Mukherjee of Nee Soon Clinic.
EVENTFUL INCIDENT AT NEE SOON CLINIC
1973
History has demonstrated that working as a physician in Nee Soon Clinic can be rather eventful. Dr Soh Fook Thin recounted his narrow escape from almost certain death to The Straits Times, 30 November 1973. Dr Soh Fook Thin of Nee Soon Clinic received an envelope containing a live bullet and an extortion letter demanding $4000 (significant sum of money at that time), with a threat of bodily harm if the terms were not met. 26 days later, he was ambushed and shot at point blank range by a gunman.
Fortunately, he had a CISCO guard with him who managed to fend off the gunman and his 3 other accomplices and sent him to Thomson Road Hospital immediately. He sustained three bullet wounds but was lucky that the bullets did not damage any vital organs or major vessels. He returned to work in Nee Soon Clinic after discharging from hospital.
THE SAGA CONCLUDES
1975
Almost 2 years later, in August 1975, he received another extortion call from the same gang of people in 1973.
This time the police managed to arrest 2 of the men and safely protected Dr Soh Fook Thin.

BELOVED DR LOW KHEE HERNG OF NEE SOON CLINIC
The doctor-patient relationship is a sacred one. Dr Low Khee Herng is one of the most beloved physicians to have worked in Nee Soon Clinic.
In his 40 over years of service in Nee Soon Clinic, he has touched the lives of numerous patients. Since he retired in 2019, he has been greatly missed by all his patients, even till today. Many still have fond memories of him. He has greatly influenced the philosophy of Nee Soon Clinic.
